Where does life come from? Is there life beyond Earth? How can we uncover clues about the evolution of life from rocks, minerals, the atmosphere, the oceans, and space exploration data? These are the core scientific questions that astrobiology seeks to answer. Astrobiology integrates multiple disciplines—including Earth science, planetary science, life science, chemistry, astronomy, and space exploration—to investigate the origin, evolution, and distribution of life, as well as the interactions between life and planetary environments.
The 2026 Astrobiology Summer School will be held at the University of Science and Technology of China from August 25 to 26. The program will feature a series of courses on the fundamental scientific questions, research methods, and cutting-edge advances in astrobiology, designed to help young participants broaden their interdisciplinary perspectives, gain insight into relevant research directions and the latest developments, and explore new possibilities for future study and scientific research.
