Executive Council

Director

Prof. Yuming Wang  (ymwang@ustc.edu.cn)

Mainly engaged in research on coronal and interplanetary medium dynamics and planetary science.

Deputy Director

Prof. Lei Geng  (genglei@ustc.edu.cn)

Focuses on the Cryosphere and the atmospheric oxidation capacity of Earth. He uses geochemical signatures originating from the atmosphere (e.g., multiple S and O isotopes) to explore the oxidation mechanisms and the evolution of planetary atmospheres.

Prof. Changqing Feng  (fengcq@ustc.edu.cn)

Focuses on the research and development of readout electronics for particle detectors, including the directions of high-precision time measurement, low-noise and large dynamic range charge measurement, high-speed real-time signal processing, etc. He is also conducting research on new directions such as machine learning-based trigger algorithm and FPGA acceleration for next-generation particle physics experiments.

Prof. Tianzhu Zhang  (tzzhang@ustc.edu.cn)

Specializes in research on theories and key technologies related to artificial intelligence and deep space exploration, and applies them to national key projects such as the fourth phase of the Lunar Exploration, the Planetary Exploration Project, and the International Lunar Research Station. Additionally, he has developed a series of deep space intelligent exploration systems for space situational awareness, high-precision landing and positioning, and autonomous roving exploration.

Prof. Yuen Wu  (yuenwu@ustc.edu.cn)

Specializes in the rational design and fine-tuning of atomic structures for single-atom and cluster catalysts, and applying them to efficiently activate chemical bonds in small energy molecules such as H₂, O₂, and CO₂. Additionally, he has developed a series of electrochemical devices and systems aimed at resource and energy utilization.

Co-chairs of committees

Prof. Jiajia Liu  (ljj128@ustc.edu.cn)

Executive chair of International Conference of Deep Space Sciences(ICDSS),specializes in the energy processes of multi-scale phenomena in the solar atmosphere, including swirls and jets, and their contribution to heating the uppper solar atmosphere. Addtionally, he has developed a number of automated identification algorithms for solar activities, as well as accurate meaching learning models for space weather forecasting.

Prof. Daoyuan Sun  (sdy2014@ustc.edu.cn)

Executive chair of the Summer School in Planetary Sciences, specializes in the use of seismology and other geophysical methods for studying interior of Earth and other planetary bodies.

Prof. Jihua Hao  (hao@ustc.edu.cn)

Executive chair of the graduate education office for Planetary Science and Exploration Technology. His research interests include: early earth surface environments, origin and early evolution of life, water chemistry of icy moon oceans, photogeochemistry.
